Successful St. John MBC Cornerstone Dedication Ceremony!

On Sunday, June 1, 2025, St. John MBC family and friends held a Cornerstone Dedication Ceremony, performed by the Memphis Masonic Region (Prince Hall). A host of St. John members joined in the celebration of singing and prayer for the official laying of the cornerstone.

The scriptural meaning behind the establishment of this precious monument can be found in Isaiah 28:16 (KJV), “Therefore, thus said The LORD GOD, ‘Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation…’”
Worship leaders for the ceremony were Sis. Joyce Walton and Sis. Ora White, who led hymns of praise. Pastor James E. Delaney officiated and blessed the food, before members enjoyed a special-prepared meal by the St. John Culinary Committee.
May GOD continue to establish the St. John Missionary Baptist Church family as a pillar and beacon of light in the Orange Mound / South Memphis community and around the world!
