At St. John Missionary Baptist Church, we believe that a strong Christian life is built upon a strong understanding of the Word of GOD. Through our Christian Nurture ministry, believers of all ages are invited to gather each Sunday morning for Bible-centered teaching, Christian education, meaningful discussion, and spiritual growth.
Christian Nurture is an ongoing discipleship and Bible study experience designed to help us grow not only in what we know about GOD, but also in how we live according to His Word. Whether you have studied the Bible for many years, are a new believer beginning your walk with CHRIST, or are simply seeking to learn more about the Christian faith, there is a place for you.

Through the study of Scripture, we gain the spiritual foundation needed to understand GOD’s character, recognize His promises, apply biblical principles to everyday life, and confidently share our faith with others. As Psalm 119:105 declares, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Christian Nurture continues St. John’s commitment to teaching and making disciples across generations. Children, youth, young adults, adults, seniors, longtime church members, new Christians, and those seeking a deeper relationship with CHRIST are all encouraged to attend.
Located in the historic Orange Mound community of Memphis, St. John invites you to begin your Sunday in the Sanctuary with fellowship, learning, and the life-changing Word of GOD.
