New Giving Options Help to Make ‘Cheerful’ Givers

II Corinthians 9:7

Giving has never been easier for St. John members, visitors and friends. Recently, the Church entered the world of online giving by creating a Givelify account. After researching the platform and finding that more than 40,000 faith-based organizations use it nationwide, Church officers decided to take the leap of faith.

“I had heard a lot of good things about it from other ministers whose churches use Givelify,” said Pastor Delaney. “They said it is ‘convenient’ and has ‘increased giving at their churches’.”

Irregular church attendance resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic led to many members mailing their tithes, but many reported issues of returned mail. Additionally, social media friends and followers who tune in to the Church’s livestreams were inquiring about ways to give and support the ministry. With no clear answer, the Church decided to provide all donors with safe and secure options to support the ministry.

The Church reserved a post office box for members who prefer to mail their tithes, and also began online giving through Givelify.

“The first time I used it, it was great. I didn’t have to worry about writing a check,” commented St. John Youth Director Jacques Causey. “I really like it.”
